Nimule August 2009 Trip
Nimule, Sudan

Description: Nimule is located on the Ugandan border, home to many displaced peoples and the site for the work of Moses Project missionary Maker Manyang. During the war, thousands of Dinka fled to Nimule and have remained there since.

Led by Moses Project Director David Humphrey, the small team traveled to Nimule to help Maker establish the Nimule Bible School. At an informational meeting about the Bible school, several Dinka men and women expressed their excitement over learning how the Bible fits together. As the school uses an oral method for learning the Bible, the students do not need pens, paper or even an ability to read in order to attend. During the first days of the school, fellow Moses Project missionary Jengmer Yat offered words of encouragement from the Nasir Bible School and promised that his students would be praying for the students in Nimule.

In the first phase of classes, the 42 students will learn 46 stories. Exams will take place in late October and will be administered by an Aid Sudan mission team.
