Sudanese-American Festival in Nashville
September 20th, 2008
Trevecca Nazarene University, The Quad
11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Admission is free
Featuring food vendors, crafts and entertainment from Sudan and America, this festival is a cultural experience for the entire family! Nashville’s Sudanese community is serving up traditional Sudanese food, filling the air with African music and showing off local artisanship.
Entertainment includes inflatables, face painting for the kids and demonstrations from local Lost Boys on how to “sculpt” Sudanese cows out of clay. A selection of vendors will also be on-hand selling an array of unique jewelry and handcrafted goods.
Booths from various organizations will be set-up to provide information on Sudan, the work that is being done in Nashville and how you and your family can get involved. Bring the whole family for an educational, entertaining and fun-filled day!
For additional information, please contact Nashville Director Leigh Ann Cates at leighann@aidsudan.org.
